Since 2001, all tourists visiting Bunaken National Marine Park (divers, snorkelers, sunbathers) pay a 150.000 Rp. annual fee (around 15 euro) and receive a coloured plastic badge, that can be applied easily to an object such as your BCD. This fee is just a small amount for overseas travellers, but allows the Park to collect some money for the park's management. We are convinced that this is a good measure and every diver is glad to contribute to the conservation of our favourite dive sites.
